Silverlight goes mobile at last! On.. Nokia phones?!
Yesterday I read a few news stories about the launch of Back
in September we ran a story entitled Silverlight goes live,
where's the Windows Mobile lovin'? Simply put, Silverlight
allows web apps to be developed with animation, vector graphics and audio-video
playback. It'll compete with Adobe Flash, QuickTime and the like. Yesterday it
T-Mobile MDA Compact IV on show
Looks like T-Mobile Germany are all set to release the MDA
Compact IV. It's got GPS, 3G and 7.2 HSDPA connectivity plus a whacking 4Gb of
storage and a VGA (yes, we said VGA) screen.
HTC Shift - Yet more pictures and video
We love doing reviews. At the moment we're trying to get hold
of a Lexus
IS-F to test but they don't seem too keen, so instead we've managed to bag
our second HTC Shift. This one is a brand new retail unit with the cellophane

capabilities.
Asus show off their new GUI for WinMo 6.1
The Engadget boys have managed to grab a look at the new Asus

experience with menus sliding into place, plus there's a nod to the HTC guys
with a spinning cube / triangle system.
HTC Shift - Go get yourself one

Sony Ericsson gives 2009 release date for the X1
After a rather major product
announcement the last thing you'd want is for a 2009 release date to appear on the web. Alas, that's
what's happened to the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1. Here it sits with a release
date of February 10th 2009.
i-Mate USA gets wiped out
i-Mate have always been an interesting company. We've been
impressed by some of their handsets and their rather splendid specs, however
there have been constant rumours about manufacturing and financial problems
within i-Mate. Despite reassurances from i-Mate, the rumours still
continue.
TimeTranslator - Check local times before calling
If you've got friends, relatives or other contacts living
abroad it's always a little tricky to remember what their local time is.
Sometimes you can accidentally call your contacts in the middle of the night,
which is never good if you're trying to close an important business deal.
