Mobile Broadband Makes for Better Productivity

Cell phone companies are moving away from just offering cell phones. Now they are beginning to offer things that companies big and small are really getting excited about. Called mobile broadband, this is their way of trying to rake in just a bit more money a year. Basically, the way it works is that you get a card that you insert into your computer via USB or the wireless card slot, pay a monthly payment, and voila. This connects you to broadband internet. Pretty cool, huh?

A big question you may be asking is: why should I care? If I can get internet at home, why would I want this? The same question was posed when people first heard about cell phones. "I can talk at home on a direct line, why do I need a mobile phone?" Now look. Everyone has them. Why? Because there are times when we just need to get online and we don't want to wait to get home. It's really a great thing if you are a small business because your employees can get on even when they are out doing sales meetings.

Mobile broadband is a great thing. Using a speed test as their research, mobile companies continue to expand their features and try to make the internet they provide faster and faster. It's a great way of getting internet for your employees when they are out and it makes for a much better, faster and more efficient productivity.

The European Commission Goes to War Against Ringtones

The European Commission has gone to war against the Ringtones industry. Twenty sites based in Ireland were shut down because the commission felt that these sites were targeting young children into believing that for one fixed price, they would get these downloads when, in fact, they were being signed up for extensive contracts that cost a tremendous amount of money.

These WAP Ringtones are dangerous for people because there is so much hidden print that people don't read when they sign up. This is a multi-million dollar market, making over 631 million pounds last year alone. It is dangerous then for the governments not to take this as a heavy matter.

Whether or not this will do any damage to the ringtone market, though, no one really knows. People want their ringtones and they are going to continue signing up for these offers that is going to cost them a ton of money. People want their backgrounds and the songs that play. People want A Mili Ringtone. In the end, whether the European Commission can stop these sites or not is of little consequence because somewhere else, another one of these sites will pop up. And on the web, you can find anything anywhere.
